MLS Cup 2022/23 Outright Winners
New England Revolution (+610)
Last year’s Eastern Conference champions the New England Revolution come in as the co-favourites to go all the way this season after a disappointing end to 2021.
A semi-final defeat to New York City FC cost the Revolution a big chance at success. They were the best goalscoring team in the country, being the only side to score over 60 goals, which means they’re almost a given for goal bets during the season.
Their defensive structure hurt them last year though and without a big improvement on that during the current campaign then it is really difficult to see how they better their own performance a year later.
Carles Gil grabbed 18 assists last year on his way to the MLS MVP award, and he will likely play a huge part in their successes once again this season but I do expect the title to fall just short of their reach unfortunately.
At +610 to win the cup as a whole, they’re great value considering they’re almost a guarantee to be in the playoffs at the very least come the end of the season and once you’re in that position then anything can happen.

Los Angeles FC (+900)
Los Angeles FC had a poor season last year, finishing in 9th place and missing out on the playoffs entirely. But after a season of rebuilding and recharging, they’re back and ready to compete once again in 2022/23.
Star man Carlos Vela missed over half the season last year with a hamstring problem and it clearly affected the way LA FC played, but the Mexican striker is back healthy again and ready to compete for the golden boot and with his ability he genuinely has the ability to take this side from a mid-table outfit to true title contenders.
New manager Steve Cherundulo will need to be able to get the best out of him in the way Bob Bradley did to help the team back to a successful time, but they’ve got the squad to do it.

The reigning and defending champions at +1000? Count me in.
New York finished in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, with 14 wins and 11 draws from their 34 game season. They scored 56 goals during the regular season, a total only bettered by New England in their own conference and Sporting Kansas City in the East.
They were quite disappointing in their performance there, but they really turned it on in the playoffs to really deserve their title, despite needing two penatly shootouts in the four games to be able to call themselves champions.
